This is a very special fossil. It is an Unidentified Fossil Bird found in the fossil fish site in Kemmerer, Wyoming. Fossil birds are extremely rare finds in the United States, and ones this nice are almost never found. This amazing bird is well articulated and has extraordinary detail preserved. Although the head is restored, the wings and legs are fossilized in textbook position - even the claws on the wing and leg can be seen! The bone structure of rest of the bird is also very well preserved. The bird is almost perfectly centered on the squared plate of Green River Shale. You may have seen fossil bird material for sale from China, but how many Green River birds have you seen - and at this ridiculous price? This is one fossil that could be the centerpiece of any Avian or Green River fossil collection.

A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
