This is a fabulous enrolled trilobite. It is a beautiful Drotops megalomanicus from Morocco. This textbook specimen was meticulously prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab here in Colorado. This type is one of the most impressive enrolled trilobites in the world. This specimen is almost three inches wide, and almost six inches long around the curve! The thick shell exoskeleton is beautifully preserved, and the shiny black color is fully natural. The trilobite is completely enrolled, tight head-to-tail, which is extremely unusual. The compound eyes are very large and fully intact, and the many faceted lenses are very easily seen. The detail of the bug is absolutely incredible, and its very large size is quite impressive. This is a spectacular enrolled example of this massive Moroccan trilobite, probably the best enrolled Drotops we have seen.

A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
