This is a fabulous display fossil. It is a very large Phareodus testis fossil fish from Wyoming. Phareodus was a predatory fish, with a mouth full of sharp teeth - this specimen showcases these teeth beautifully. The fish is very well-preserved and has extremely fine detail. The fins and tail are simply awesome - very complete and symmetrical. The scale pattern is even preserved on this specimen. The fish is almost perfectly centered on an aesthetic, rectangular matrix plate that also contains a small Diplomystus fish tangled in the larger fish's bottom fin. And, remember, this fish is well over 10 inches long - WOW! This is a top quality and extremely displayable predatory fossil fish.

A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
