Here is a beautiful example of a cool trilobite. This is a very large Cheirurus (Crotalocephalina) gibbus trilobite from the Devonian of Morocco. This trilobite was prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab here in Colorado. This trilobite exhibits excellent detail - the genal spines, pleural spines, and tailspines have been prepared in a free-standing manner. The underside of the bug has also been cleaned, exposing the huge hypostoma (mouthplate). The strange trilobite is very inflated and 3-dimensionally preserved and very nicely articulated. The fossil is beautifully showcased on a large, round plate of Orthoceras limestone. This is probably the most displayable specimen of this type of Cheirurid trilobite we have ever seen.

A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
