This is an extremely rare fossil. It is a complete True Scorpion, Araipescorpius ligabuei, from the famous Santana Formation of Brazil. This amazing arachnid lived during the Cretaceous Period, at the same time as the Dinosaurs! This cool scorpion has great natural coloration and is extremely detailed - the claws are easily seen and the segmented tail is wonderfully outstretched. And there is no restoration whatsoever on this amazing specimen! It is incredibly rare in the fossil record to find a scorpion this complete and well preserved. This is a fabulous example of probably the most sought-after invertebrate from the Santana Formation.

A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
