This is a top quality Russian trilobite. It is a beautiful, prone Pliomera fischeri from the Ordovician Asery Layers. This specimen was acquired from the Chance Collection. This trilobite is almost always found enrolled - it is highly unusual to find an outstretched example of this trilobite. This specimen is wonderfully prone and extremely 3-dimensional. The bug is very well articulated and exhibits extremely fine detail - the free cheeks are intact and tightly attached, the small eyes are easily seen, and the many, many thoracic segments are clearly defined. The thick-shelled, caramel-colored exoskeleton of the trilobite contrasts beautifully with the light-colored matrix. The bug is aesthetically showcased on the sculpted block of limestone, not on the edge like most examples. This is a textbook specimen of an exquisite Pliomera from the Chance Collection.

A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
