This is an ultra rare trilobite fossil. It is a beautiful Acanthopyge from Morocco. This type had been composited from parts for years, because there had never been a complete specimen found. Eventually, a handful of complete ones were unearthed years ago in one pocket, and this is one of those cherished few. This specimen was acquired from a MAJOR fossil collection, the very famous Chance Collection. The bug is fully complete- the head, body, and tail are all intact and well articulated (if you flip the fossil over, you can see that this specimen was preserved in one rock and cleaned in cross section, PROOF that it was not composited or cobbled together!). The quality of this trilobite is excellent - the thick shell exoskeleton is beautifully preserved and exhibits amazing detail - the distinct pustulation is even seen with the naked eye. And the trilobite is quite inflated and 3-dimensional for this type, as can be seen in the photos. This is not only an extremely collectible example of this ultra rare Lichid trilobite, it is an incredible display fossil. This is easily in the Top Ten of desired trilobites among collectors worldwide. Simply...WOW!

A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
