This is an extremely impressive trilobite fossil! It is a top quality Drotops armatus double from the Devonian of Morocco. This spectacular fossil was painstakingly prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab. These amazing trilobites are extremely inflated and 3-dimensional and exhibit extraordinarily fine detail. The thick-shelled exoskeletons are covered with hundreds of coarse pustules and spines, and the individual lenses of the large compound eyes are very easily seen and near-perfectly preserved! The top trilobite has been meticulously prepared so that its large hypostoma (mouthplate) can be viewed ventrally. The breathtaking bugs have gorgeous natural color and contrast and are beautifully displayed on the large, sculpted block of dense limestone. And look at those spines! The dozens of LONG spines are practically flawless, which makes this specimen one of the most displayable and collectible examples of a double spiny Drotops we've ever seen! This is simply a textbook Drotops armatus multiple that is worthy of ANY museum or private collection!
